Project Description:

Provided detailed estimating services for the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad Locomotive Maintenance and Wash Facility tender located in Dallas, Texas. DSMC was responsible for the overall estimate, including vendor RFP management for all construction disciplines. Kinley Construction Group was successful on the tender and awarded the project.

Scope of Work:

Estimating

  • Review project specifications and contractual terms and conditions
  • Prepare and issue RFQ to subcontractors and vendors
  • Quantitative take off for civil, concrete, mechanical, and process piping
  • Submit request for information
  • Prepare lead letter
  • Prepare project schedule

Project Buyout

  • Finalize scope of work with subcontractors
  • Prepare and submit subcontractor information for contract
  • Issue purchase orders for long lead items
  • assist in review of shop drawings
  • Update estimate to reflect buyout
